Matthew Best to visit Truman campus

Lineweight artist Matthew Best will be visiting Truman State University next week. His visit is co-sponsored by our collaborators over in the English department and the Ecologically minded group on campus whose name I will surely remember soon. Matt’s work in the show are sketchbook pages related to his adventures foraging for wild food in the suburbs of D.C. He takes a page from the walking naturalists of the enlightenment and uses drawing as a note-taking, observational, record-keeping method as he re-engages with our place in the food chain.

His visit to campus will include visits to classes across disciplines, a public lecture on Thursday Feb, 5th at 6pm in Opheilia Parrish 2210, and a live interview on KTRM 88.7 The Edge from Noon-2pm.
