“American Race” artist Myra Greene

Just another quick mention, Monday night at 6pm in OP 2210 an evening with Jill Weinreich. Stop by and learn about living and working in Italy with the Venice Biennale.

The work of Myra Greene encompasses photography, printmaking, sound, and digital production work. Her art explores a variety of issues including the assimilation into various cultures and “the ever shifting identity of African Americans.” Greene’s series “My White Friends” examines the stereotypes of those considered to be within the cultural norm.

Currently Greene is an Assistant Professor of photography at Columbia College in Chicago. Her work has been featured in a variety of exhibitions and magazines.

I do not have any pictures I can put up here but here is a link to her work http://www.myragreene.com/

I will be out of town for a few days but will be back here by Wednesday evening.

“The beginning is the most important part of the work.” Plato
