Tomorrow evening at 6pm is the opening reception for the BFA/BA Thesis Exhibit and Vis. Com. Portfolio Sample Display
I hope to see you all there.
As much as this body of work has been about the places I have been and the experiences I have enjoyed and further showcasing those locations to my viewer, I also hope that these paintings can, on some level, be seen as a metaphor. Especially at this point in my life, I have made a number of decisions, chosen a multitude of paths that have led me to where I am today. Now as graduation nears, I approach another fork in the road—I decision about what is next after Truman must be made—just another road that I will follow on my pursuit to a happy, fulfilling life. If past experiences, like the ones depicted in this show, are any indication, each path, though there may always be obstacles, works out to be a good experience and a pleasant adventure along the way.
All of my experiences—from childhood, grade-school, family vacations, my time at Truman, studying aboard, and all my other unique adventures have shaped me into the person I am today and have greatly influenced the art that I work to create. I look forward to what the future has in store.
