On Friday September 10th @ 5:00pm the University Art Gallery will be hosting a reception to introduce educators in our area about various gallery educational programs.
The Truman Gallery and Friends of the Gallery are encouraging local schools to bring students to see the various exhibitions as well as the various educational programs offered by the gallery. Last year many local area schools brought students to see the Egyptian pottery show and have an informal discussion about the history of the pieces. Unfortunately many schools were not able to attend because of the cost of transportation.
This year, however, the Truman Gallery and Friends of the Gallery are raising money to pay for school bus trips to the Gallery. An anonymous donor offered up to $250 to match other people’s donations. This goal has been exceeded, as of today $375 has been raised by the gallery. Including the anonymous donation $625 has been raised. Thank you to all who have contributed.
If you are a teacher in the Kirksville area or surrounding areas and would like to attend the reception, get more information on the programs, or would like to donate to the transportation costs please contact Aaron Fine at 660-785-5386 or email@example.com
Dont forget after the Labor Day break, Tuesday, September 7th @ 6pm the faculty show will open.
Also that evening the Kirksville Art Gallery will host the opening reception for local designer and photographer Brooke Goans @ 5:30pm.
